UGI Corporation (NYSE: UGI) Chairman and CEO Lon R. Greenberg, has been appointed to its Board of Directors. UGI, a distributor and marketer of energy products and services, is based in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
Greenberg brings a wealth of both utility and business experience to Aqua America. He joined UGI Corporation in 1980 as corporate development counsel, rising to the rank of senior vice president of legal and corporate development over the next decade, before being appointed president of the company in 1994. One year later he was named CEO and was elected Chairman in 1996. Greenberg, who earned a B.S. in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and graduated Villanova University's Law School with honors, also completed Harvard University Business School's Advanced Management Program. After receiving his J.D., Greenberg spent four years at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Philadelphia after clerking for a Pennsylvania Superior Court judge. Among his civic activities, Greenberg is chairman of the Pennsylvania Business Roundtable and also serves on the board of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania Campaign Cabinet, and Reading is Fundamental.Holdings: 12,200 shares

Mario Mele is the president of Fidelio Insurance Company and Dental Delivery Systems, Inc. As a director of Aqua, he serves on the Board's Corporate Governance Committee, replacing former director and Drexel University President Dr. Constantine Papadakis who passed away in April of the same year.
Fidelio Insurance Company specializes in underwriting group dental insurance. Founded in 1986, the company expanded its operations to New Jersey in 2002. Mele is concurrently president of Dental Delivery Systems, Inc., a dental HMO that serves clients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Mele has 35 years of experience in the health insurance industry having headed Dental Delivery Systems since 1975.
In addition to his private industry experience, Mele spent eight years in government having been elected chairman of the Montgomery County (PA) Board of Commissioners in 1992, where he managed the County's then $300 million operating budget and $200 million capital budget. Prior to that, he served 7 years on the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board under Pennsylvania Governor Richard Thornburgh.
Mele received a B.A. and an M.A. in physics from LaSalle University and Temple University respectively. He also serves as a member of the Holy Redeemer Health System Advisory Board and the Board of the Opera Company of Philadelphia. -
Ellen T. RuffDirector since 2006 -
Ms. Ruff, president of Duke Energy's Office of Nuclear Development, joined Aqua America's Board of Directors in August 2006. She sits on the Board's Executive Compensation Committee.
As president of Duke Energy's Office of Nuclear Development, Ruff directs one of the nation's leading electric utilities, which serves more than two million customers in North Carolina and South Carolina. Ruff has been with Duke Energy since 1978 when she joined the company as an attorney. A native of Hartford, Connecticut, Ruff earned a B.A. in business from Simmons College and a J.D. from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She is a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the North Carolina State Bar.Holdings: 5,000 shares

Sordoni served as a director of public companies regulated by the FCC and FDIC and numerous state regulatory commissions, including Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company.
